Christmas Tree Wall Hanging

Materials Needed:

Coordinating Green Fabrics, 9 – 3 ½” strips

Brown Fabric: 4 ½” x 5”

Yellow Fabric: 6” square

Canvas: 1 yard (60” wide)

2 – 1”x2”x8’ pieces of wood, cut (2 pieces 27” long, 2 pieces 40” long)

8 – 1 ½” wood screws

Drill

Hammer

Staple gun

Picture hanger

Cut pieces to the dimensions listed on the picture below.

Starting at center fold of canvas, place fabric strips according to size. Sew ¼” seam allowance around perimeter of each green strip.

Place star at top of tree and stitch around perimeter.

Center trunk on bottom strip of last green strip and stitch around perimeter.

Zigzag stitch or serge around perimeter of canvas.

Wash for frayed edges  – optional.

Build wood frame by attaching 27” pieces of wood to 40” pieces giving you a finished rectangle – 27” x 41 ½” – with 2 screws on each corner. *Pre-drilling is always a good idea.

Stretch washed canvas over frame and staple on inside edges of frame, folding corners as you would wrap a gift.

Attach picture hanger – hang and Enjoy!
